Readers Are Listening
Podcasting is a great way to connect with readers. It's one of the only communication technologies on the internet with no algorithm between you and your listeners. Authors have full control over what they say, and readers have full control over what they hear.
So where do you learn how to start a podcast?
You have two options to learn podcasting.
Option #1: Watch tutorial videos on YouTube. This is free in terms of dollars but expensive in terms of time. Plus, the advice will conflict and some of it will lead you astray.
Option #2: Find a mentor. Get an experienced podcastor to walk you through the process start to finish. This is well worth the investment since it helps you avoid wasting time & money learning things the hard way.
Thomas Umstattd Jr. has been helping authors start their own podcasts since 2010. Some of his students have built podcasts that have gone on to get millions of downloads.

Thomas Umstattd Jr. has been podcasting since 2007.
Thomas is the former host of an afternoon drive-time radio show in Austin, Texas. Since 2007 he has hosted half a dozen different podcasts, including Novel Marketing, which is the longest-running book marketing podcast in the world.
